Barna secured our first podium finish of the year by taking second place at today’s Cyclo-Cross National Championships in Debrecen, finishing behind the winner, Zsombor Takács.
Barni’s thoughts after the race:
“Overall, my preparation went well. I caught a bit of a cold in the past few days, but I don’t think it affected my performance significantly. I managed to catch Zsombor, then made a mistake, dropped back a little, and after that I had quite a heavy crash, which is where I lost touch completely. The course didn’t really suit me today, and in the snowy conditions I unfortunately made a lot of mistakes during the race.
The next races are the World Cup in Benidorm, followed by the World Cup in Hoogerheide, and then the World Championships in Hulst. From now on, I’ll be racing every weekend. My goal is to reach my best form for the World Championships and achieve a strong result there.”
