Dear TUS Fans, Partners, Team Members,
Our first complete season has come to an end. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for all the active work, racing, support, help, and words of encouragement. All of these made our first year complete and very successful.
We really enjoyed it, I really enjoyed it.
Already in the first days it was clear that a very good team and staff had come together, and that this could turn into a memorable year, hopefully years.
In the end, we finished with 12 victories and 697 UCI points (which, if we don’t count the new development teams of WT teams, means 2nd place among teams that debuted in 2025 across all categories). We started the season with 12 riders, and during the year Tóth Márkó and Nikiforos Arvanitou joined us, so 14 riders completed 25 races and 72 race days. Here too, grateful thanks to the staff members, Szabó Adri and Dér Zsolt, who as a ‘zero-kilometer’ team were able to secure invitations to so many great races. The UCI points earned also mean that among the 174 continental teams we finished in 22nd place, and if we exclude the WT development teams from this, then 15th place – I am very proud of this and everyone who contributed to it, and we sincerely thank everyone for all the support from the roadside or from online. It meant a lot to the guys and staff members that they received so many encouraging comments throughout the year.
We set the bar high in our first year, but I can promise that we will always strive to be better. All of this as true sportsmen, helping and cooperating with other teams, their riders, and staff members.
And speaking of cooperation: many noteworthy things happened this year, one of the highlights being the lengthy negotiations with the leaders of Team Bahrain Victorious, which concluded with us signing what is hopefully a historic agreement. Hopefully, because we will see the results in the long term, but in the short term it is definitely a success. With MBH Bank Ballan CSB becoming a Hungarian-registered team and moving up a level, and us having an active partnership with a WT team, it offers opportunities to current young riders that didn’t exist before, and I very much hope that in a few years we can cheer for more of our compatriots at every Grand Tour. This is essentially what we work for day in and day out, so that this beautiful sport can develop in Hungary as well.
This post was written before the unfortunate announcement from Epronex and Karcag; we trust that after a short break they will reassemble, and perhaps many more Hungarian professional teams than before can offer places to Hungarian talent. Otherwise it won’t work.
As for our 2026 season: we’re starting the season with 16 riders, 5 completely new names will be in the roster. We want more races and race days, and to make the Tour de Hongrie the highlight of the year again. Personally, I’m really looking forward to the national championships – our women’s team is planned to start with 8 riders, in the men’s time trial János Pelikán is preparing to defend his title, and the men’s road race: Marci Dina arrives with an excellent and strong lineup of teammates, even though he managed to win without a team this year – this time Attila Valter won’t be without teammates either, and what a duo they will form with Bálint Feldhoffer, and of course we’re also coming with a nice train.
Thank you very much once again to everyone for everything!
Go TUS, go Hungarian cycling!
