The 2025 Tour of Serbia concluded with a 116 kilometer long stage between Jagodina and Kruševac. Several riders tried to attack in the hilly midsection of the stage, but the sprint teams kept the race under control. As the peloton entered Kruševac, the fast men were left to decide the outcome of the final day.
To the delight of the Serbian crowd and the Team United Shipping squad, Mihajlo Stolić sprinted to victory, claiming the stage win in front of home fans.
Italian rider Lorenzo Cataldo finished second on the day, a result that was enough to secure his overall lead and clinch the general classification title. In the final standings, Cataldo was followed by Stolić and Arvanitou, both representing Team United Shipping.
Stolić reflects on his performance:
“It wasn’t certain whether I’d be able to start the final stage, as I wasn’t feeling well and had a fever. However, since it wouldn’t have been the first time I’ve raced under such conditions, I decided to line up and give it my best.
As the race went on, I started feeling a bit better, though I was still far from my best. The team did an amazing job – everyone gave absolutely everything, and I take my hat off to them.
With this race, an incredible 2025 season comes to an end. I’m extremely proud and deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to my success. This team has truly become my second family, and it’s an emotional feeling to close such a fantastic season.”
Niki on his last race of the season:
“It was a tough stage – we tried some attacks after the start, but in the end, we controlled the race and went for the sprint, where Stolić took another win. I’m really happy I could play my part and help the team. It’s always a great feeling to give something back and contribute to the victory.
Finishing third overall is very satisfying for me. I’m looking forward to recharging and coming back stronger next season.
I joined the team mid-season, and I’m really happy to be part of such a great project. Everyone here is a true cycling enthusiast – that’s what makes it so special and beautiful to work together and chase our goals as a team.”
